๐๐ฟ Rustic Pasta, Made Your Way
Thereโs something special about a bowl of pasta that feels both rustic and comforting. This Spiral Pasta with Broccolini and Sausage is exactly that. Itโs quick to prepare, affordable, and nourishing enough to feed family or friends without fuss.
The beauty lies in its simplicity. A base of olive oil, onions, garlic, and fennel sausage gives you a savoury depth of flavour in just minutes. From there, balance becomes key. The sausage’s richness pairs with earthy greens. A finish of salty Parmesan cheese completes it. Itโs hearty, satisfying, and deeply Italian at its core. (https://marias.com.au/).
๐๐ฟ Make it Your Way
What I love most is how adaptable it is. Broccolini are traditional and bring a lovely minerality, but not everyone has access to them โ and thatโs fine. Swap them out for spinach, bok choy, or kale. You can even use mustard greens. Choose depending on whatโs in season or sitting in your fridge. Donโt have Fresh Parmesan? A sprinkle of Pre-Grated Parmesan or Romano works just as well. Even the pasta itself can change. Spiral pasta is nutty and wholesome. Any dried pasta on hand will carry the sauce beautifully.
In just about 20 minutes, you can have a steaming bowl of pasta on the table. Itโs the kind of recipe that fits neatly into a busy weeknight, yet still feels special enough for company. Affordable ingredients, minimal prep, and big flavours โ this is what makes rustic Italian cooking so timeless.
This dish is proof that good food doesnโt have to be complicated. You can follow it to the letter or make your own swaps. It just has to be made with care โ and served with plenty of grated cheese on top. (How to make Fresh Pasta).
