🌿 Native Pepperberry

Native Pepperberry is a striking Indigenous Australian bush food prized for its deep purple-black berries and vibrant crimson stems. It is also known as Tasmanian Pepperberry or Mountain Pepper (Tasmannia lanceolata). Aboriginal food culture across south-eastern Australia has used it for thousands of years.

Grown naturally in the cool forests of Tasmania and Victoria, the berries and leaves deliver a bold, warming heat. This heat is sharper than black pepper. It is also layered with subtle sweetness and eucalyptus notes.

Native Pepperberry was traditionally valued for flavour and cultural knowledge. It is now embraced in modern Australian kitchens. Cooks use it for seasoning meats, seafood, chocolate, sauces, and native spice blends.

This ingredient is part of the Indigenous & Bush Foods collection. It honors native Australian ingredients. It also celebrates the deep connection between food, land, and story..️
