Delicious and Fluffy Basmati Rice
Fluffy-cooked Basmati rice is a culinary delight characterized by its long, slender grains that remain distinct and separate after cooking.
This rice variety is known for its aromatic fragrance and delicate texture. It transforms into a light, airy dish. Each grain is perfectly cooked to fluffy perfection.

Easy Basmati Rice
Equipment
- 1 Large Pot with Lid
- 1 Electric Jug
Ingredients
- 500 gram Basmati Rice
- 1 Litre Boiling Water
- 100 ml olive oil
- 20 gram Butter
- 6 each Cardamon pods
- ½ tsp Cummin seeds
- 2 each Cloves of Garlic (crushed)
- 1 each Small Onion
Instructions
- Peel and dice 1 small onion (I like using Red Onions) Check out my quick skill video of how to dice and slice an onion!
- Crush or chop the Cardamon pods
- Crush or chop the Garlic cloves
- Weigh or measure 500g Basmati Rice
- on a low heat warm the Pot you are cooking in.
- add the olive oil butter onion garlic, cardamon, and cummin cook gently

- Ensure the water is boiling in the electric jug
- Turn up the Heat of the Pot and add the Rice to the Pot with the onion and spices
- Stir the rice so it becomes evenly coated with the oil butter and ingredients.

- Carefully pour the hot water over the rice stir once and place on the lid.

- Immediately turn the heat to the lowest setting and allow to cook for 8 minutes

- After 8 minutes, turn off the Gas (if using an electric hob move the Pot of Rice to a hob that is not turned on).

- Allow to stand for 1-2 minutes then remove the lid from the pot.

- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.
